Corgi AA36902 1:72 AA36902 Junkers Ju 52 Diecast Model Luftwaffe MSGR1, Budaros Airfield, Hungary, Summer 1944

The Junkers Ju 52 was a three-engine aircraft first introduced in April of 1931. Initially, it served as a troop transport and bomber, but later on, it was also used as a 17-passenger airliner by the German Lufthansa. During the Spanish Civil War, it played a critical role in transporting troops from Morocco to Spain. The aircraft was armed with multiple machine guns and equipped with bomb racks capable of carrying up to 3,307 lbs of bombs. It was nicknamed "Iron Annie" and was built of strong corrugated metal.

During World War II, the Ju 52 was used for various purposes, such as troop transport and mine-laying. Production increased during the war by factories in Hungary and later in France. The minesweeper variant was designed to detonate magnetic mines using a large electrical loop.

Corgi offers a 1:72 scale Ju 52 model series that is ready for display right out of the box, with no configuration required. The model features beautifully replicated corrugated metal skin that is noticeable to the touch. The Ju 52 series includes different aircraft versions, including civilian airliners, floatplanes, troop transports, and minesweepers. Military variants come with a 360-degree rotating dorsal-mounted gunner with pivoting machine gun, and waist-mounted gunner positions. Additionally, complex control surface details and the distinctive toed-out wing-mounted engines are included. The model comes with a robust all-metal display stand to support its large and heavy size.
