Making Tracks IV - Up to the Junction

Making Tracks Returns to Chester for the fourth year
Exciting news for train enthusiasts and model railway fans

After popular demand, Pete Waterman and the Railnuts are back with another thrilling installment of Making Tracks. This summer, don't miss the chance to see part four of the world record-holding Making Tracks model railway. This year, the intricate 64-foot-long railway will feature a miniature version of Watford Junction from the West Coast mainline, promising to captivate and amaze visitors.

But that's not all! Visitors will have the unique opportunity to drive trains themselves, adding an interactive element that is sure to delight both young and old.

Pete Waterman OBE expressed his excitement about the return of Making Tracks to Chester:

"Hello, everyone! We are very excited to bring Making Tracks back to Chester this summer for the fourth year in a row! As many of you know, Paul and the Chester Model Centre were the driving forces behind bringing the exhibition to Chester under very challenging circumstances back in the summer of 2020. We've all come to expect and enjoy the Chester Model Centre stall that typically accompanies Making Tracks, but unfortunately, this year there just isn't enough space to accommodate it in Chester Cathedral.

But all is not lost! The good news is, Chester Model Centre is only a 5-minute walk away, and you will be rewarded with a massive two floors to explore for making the extra journey! So please remember, no trip to Making Tracks is truly complete without stopping by. And don’t forget, Paul and his team will also be back at Blakemere this Christmas. See you soon!"

Chester Model Centre owner Paul Boyland is equally thrilled about the return of Making Tracks:

"I'm delighted to see Making Tracks return to Chester for the fourth year in a row. I remember how hard it was to bring the exhibition to the city for the first time back in the summer of 2020, and just how much it meant to people to see it in person. While it's disappointing not to have our stall alongside the exhibition this year, I am hopeful that visitors will find quick stroll to Chester Model Centre the perfect addition to their Making Tracks experience."

So, mark your calendars and get ready for a summer filled with miniature railway magic. Tickets are included in summer entry at the Cathedral. To guarantee swift entry, pre-book your summer entry tickets here.
