History
The British Rail Class 60 is a class of Co-Co heavy freight diesel electric locomotive built by Brush Traction. They are nicknamed Tugs by rail enthusiasts. An order of 100 of these locomotives was received by Brush and building commenced in 1988. EWS took over the entire fleet after British Rail was privatised in 1996 and the class 60s have been operated by many freight operators in the years that followed. The loco was scrapped in January 2020 at DBC depot in Toton.
